Marie Laure Davenport

I’m French and have trained in both individual and group analysis. My individual training was done with the Philadelphia Association, and my group training with the Institute of Group Analysis.

I am a member of both organisations. I am very interested in the Lacanian understanding of Freud, and am doing a further training with the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research.

I have extensive experience in a variety of settings. Apart from my work at the Shirland Road Community, I am a member of the Association for Psychanalytic Psychotherapy in the NHS and have led a group of out-patients for more than twenty years. I also work at the Women’s Therapy Centre, where I am a supervisor.

I am registered with the UKCP, the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists. UKCP certified therapists are fully qualified and work to a strict code of ethics and practice. As a safeguard to clients, therapists are required to re-register yearly, to ensure they maintain professional standards.

I am also registered with the College of Psychoanalysts.
